Ocean side pier starting point

With the Winnebago and two support cars insured, branded and relocated near the starting point, the team and riders start to prepare the necessary details before Saturday's start. With the bikes set up and tested around the busy streets of Ocean Side, the riders managed to find some time to see off the soloists and meet some of the other teams.

Joining us at our new motel is the Velocity bikes team from England, raising money for the Fire Fighters Charity and St Richard's Hospital Charitable Trust. The mood between all teams is one of respect for what is to come and admiration for getting this far.

You get the feeling that this race is more about the experience than the goal. However, I'm sure I'll revisit that thought when we see another four-man team near our finish line.
